WSDM Student Travel Grants
As a result of conference sponsorship, we are offering a limited number of grants for students that want to attend the conference next February in New York City.
The grant winners will receive reimbursement for up to US$500 in travel and registration expenses for attending WSDM 2010. All Ph.D. students interested in Web Search and Data Mining can apply.
To be reimbursed, awardees must register for (and attend) the main conference like other student participants. Expenses to be reimbursed can also include registration and housing for the SSM 2010 workshop. Students from NYU Poly and Lehigh University are not eligible.
To apply, send, no later than December 20th, an e-mail to wsdm2010travel@gmail.com containing:
- your CV, containing your research topic, advisor, list of publications, etc.
- 1-page statement about why you wish to attend WSDM 2010
The winners will be notified by e-mail by January 1 and their names published on the conference web page. We are looking forward to receiving your applications.
Google Female Conference Travel Grant
As part of Google's ongoing commitment to encourage women in computing and technology, we are pleased to announce the 2010 Google WSDM Conference Grant to encourage more female computer science students to attend and participate in the WSDM 2010 Conference, 3-6 February, New York City, USA. We encourage all female computer science students interested in Web Search and Data Mining to apply.
Two people will be chosen from the applicant pool to receive:
- a free registration for the conference and satellite workshops. Accommodation not included.
- $600 US
To be eligible for a conference grant, candidates must be:
- A female student enrolled and pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical field related to Web Search and Data Mining
- Maintaining a strong academic background
- Able to attend the full conference

To apply, simply submit an application for the Student Travel Grants at the address above, and state that you would also like to be considered for the Google Travel Grant.
Winners and claim process
The winners will be notified via e-mail by January 1st 2010, and their names published on the conference webpage. Winners will receive payment in person at WSDM 2010 by presenting the notification announcing your award to the Google representative. Pre-payment of the 600 USD travel grant will not be provided.
