ACM SIGIR Student Travel Grants

The SIGIR Student Travel Grant Program provides funding for students who are members of ACM SIGIR to help cover the cost of travel and lodging to attend and contribute to WSDM 2023.

To be eligible, the student applicant must be:

  • an author of an accepted research, demo, or doctoral consortium paper, and

  • the one presenting the work at the conference.

For awardees attending in-person, the grant will cover the cost of registration + some travel expenses. For awardees attending virtually, the grant will cover the cost of registration. The awards will be competitive in the sense that not every student will receive a Travel Grant.

The application process involves two steps:

  • the student must submit an application, which requires the student to explain what they wish to gain from attending WSDM 2023; and

  • independently, the academic advisor will be required to submit a statement of support.

Both the Student Form and the Academic Advisor Form must be completed by December 8, 2022.
