Smart City Ideation Challenge

Challenge Sponsor: AI Singapore

About the Challenge

To deepen the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for digital transformation, AI Singapore is excited to launch the Smart City Ideation Challenge with an aim to seek insights from the global AI community on:

“What are the AI problems worth solving towards Smart City Sustainability?”

The problem statements are expected to be:

1) Impactful to digital society, and

2) Feasible to develop into AI challenges.

We seek proposals under 2 topic categories towards building resilience and optimising resources in digital economy:

  1. Spam & Misinformation: The problem statements under this category should explore how to leverage AI for fast detection and intervention of misinformation or phishing attacks in multilingual and/or multimodal settings.

  2. Sustainability & Carbon Neutrality: The problem statements under this category should investigate how to utilise AI for the recovery of local resources from major waste streams, including electronic, plastic, and food wastes.

Up to 3 finalists for each topic category will be awarded prizes upon presenting their final pitches during WSDM-23 Smart City Day on 3 March 2023.
